Crop-o-dile Coolest Tool Ever? or Dud?

I just had the most “duh” moment in a long time… do you have a cropodile?  I have tried it multiple times to punch holes… doesn’t do ANYTHING, no holes, nothing.  So, I just notice tonight little adjustable thingies on the sides- THAT is the hole punch part, and the top is the eyelet setter thing.  I feel so dumb!  I was ready to e-mail the company and say mine was faulty.  I got this thing either last x-mas or the one before and NEVER used it.  I heard you could punch through anything, and when I couldn’t punch through paper, I thought it was broken.  I just punched through my priority mail box like cutting butter.  What else can I punch holes in?  Maybe my aluminum pop can will be next!

Raisins and corn on the cob- two foods kids love

Mental note to self:  don’t feed your 19 month old 2 boxes of raisins and 2 ears of corn in a 24 hour period of time.  I have changed 4 super stinky, messy diapers already today and it is only 9AM.  End of story.

Scrapbook Day Overload

Today I received my new CTMH catalog order, sneak peek September card kit promo that was sent separately, my RYW stamp sets…. AND two scrapbooking magazines (Simple Scrapbooks and CK).  AND I found out it was the first day of online registration for CKC Seattle and I registered for a super-fun sounding class taught by Stacy Julian.

Oh my gosh, I don’t think I can handle any more excitement- it is like scrapbook overload.  It is almost 10pm here, and I have yet to try out anything or read any of my new stuff.  I am most intrigued with the new Card Confidence coffee table book.  I thumbed through it and the pages are absolutely gorgeous.  I am too tired to play… maybe I will get to tomorrow!!!

Miracle Diapers- a worthy cause

I just came across the neatest website.

http://miraclediapers.org/howtohelp.html

It is called Miracle Diapers and basically they are a loan service for cloth diapers.  I forwarded the information on to our local Catholic Church because I know our food pantry is limited to the number of diapers and feminine hygiene products they can give out each week.  I thought I heard something like each woman was allowed 6 pads and/or 10 diapers- well, knowing from personal experience having 2 kids in pull ups at night and the youngest in diapers (this is my SIXTH year of disposable diapers) that 10 disposable diapers will not go far.  Right now, I think my youngest usually goes through 4-5 diapers a day… so, this Miracle Diaper website you can apply to get a package of REUSABLE cloth diapers and wraps for just the cost of shipping (pre-paid mailer for when your child outgrows that size.)  It sounds like a great idea and they can always use donations.

When my latest baby was born, I tried out a brand called g-diapers.  Apparently Julia Roberts uses these on her babies.  They come in lots of great colors, are a velcro wrap, and have a snap-in plastic liner and then you put this little biodegradeable pad inside.  The little pad is the only thing that isn’t reusable… but get this!  You can either tear the pad apart and swish it in the toilet (only sewers, NOT septics) or you can put a wet pad(no poo poo) in your garden and it will return to the earth.  It is a very GREEN solution.  We tried them for awhile, but have a septic tank, so not the greatest for us.
