First Day of Kindergarten

We walked Annalise to her first hour of kindergarten last Friday. We live about 4 blocks away from the school. She told us that it was a “looking day” and that they got to tour the school and find out where everything was at the Elementary School. September 10th was her first real day of school, the full 2.5 hours 🙂 Her teacher is “Mrs. P.”

I was sad and cried after dropping her off, this is my first time being on the “other side”. Now I have a bit more empathy for all those parents who had to hand over their child to me during my 5 years as a kindergarten teacher. I think I figured out that I had around 160 kindergartners that came and went during that time 🙂

We spent Labor Day weekend at the beach house in Grayland for our last “summer vacation” before Anna started school. The kids enjoyed flying kites and Erik has his first experience and taste of sand…
